Micah McDaniel

Micah McDaniel

Micah McDaniel is a first year, psychology major at Spelman College. She currently conducts research at Morehouse College under the mentorship of Dr. Teaniese Davis in the Public Health Sciences Institute. Their research focuses on sexual health and the prevention of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and infections (STD/I). Micah specifically studies whether students’ perceived risk of obtaining sexually transmitted diseases changes after they are taught HIV and STI information through the intervention. In addition, Micah has researched whether narrated growth from traumatic experiences can predict psychological well-being at Emory University during her pre-freshman summer. She will be presenting her current research at Spelman College’s Research Day in April of 2017. Upon graduation, Micah plans on obtaining her PhD and continuing her research.
