CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: My research is in determining if the patterns in methylation observed in individuals with high DDE are also found in cancer tissue.

 

OTHER RESEARCH EXPERIENCES: I participated in the RISE START program, and I had the opportunity to research how the absence and overexpression of the piwi gene impacted regenerative tissue growth in Drosophila file wings.

 

CAREER ASPIRATIONS AND GOALS: I aspire to earn my MD/PhD.

Tida Tambedou is a freshman Health Science major at Spelman College. She is currently working under the direction of Dr. Olive in the Biology Department at Spelman. Her research is in determining if the patterns of methylation observed in individuals with high DDE are also found in cancer tissue. Tida had the opportunity to research in the RISE START program, and she had the opportunity to research how the absence and overexpression of the piwi gene impacted regenerative tissue growth in Drosophila file wings. Tida aspires to earn an MD and a Ph.D. in Public health.
