Yaya Abangma

Yaya Abangma is a junior, psychology major Spanish minor from Silver Spring, MD. She currently works under Dr. Jimmeka Guillory, Assistant Professor of psychology at Spelman College. Her area of research involves correcting misinformation and preexisting beliefs specifically in American voters during the 2012 presidential election. Yaya’s specific areas of interest include psychological trauma in early childhood as well as substance use and unplanned pregnancy among adolescent women. Upon graduating in 2015, she plans on pursuing a doctorate degree in child and adolescent clinical psychology.
